Don't Forget to Stop and Smell the Roses
There are many different things that I am interested in. You may find any variety of things posted here. From my beautiful kids, wonderful hubby, my love for the Lord, cooking, running and all about my journey to lose weight and regain my health. "For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." 1 Corinthians 6:20

Blessings
I have spent the afternoon in prayerful meditation and I have to tell you, I haven't felt so relaxed in a long time. I sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine as I talked with the Lord. He has blessed me over and over in my life. I can't even count how many blessings he has bestowed upon me. The biggest blessing being my family. I constantly take them for granted when I just need to be thankful for a happy and mostly healthy family. So here is me stopping and saying thank you Lord for such a beautiful family.

Trying something new for the 2nd time
I am changing the focus of my blog to include all areas of my life, not just my running. So from now on, you could see a little bit of everything that is going on with me.
Today my focus is on changing my diet. I have been struggling with pain and numbness for the last several months in my arms, hands, legs and feet. I have almost convinced myself that I need to cut gluten from my diet. I have done it in the past with great success. So I am going forward with a new purpose and adventure. I may post some recipes from time to time that I find and enjoy. I am feeling excited to start this new journey.

Good News/Bad News
Today is a good news/bad news sort of day.
Good News: I completed day one of my training, and I am still alive.
Bad News: It is going to take me quite a while before I am able to run a 5k, much less a half marathon.
Good News: I am still alive!
Bad News: having the same issues with my right knee that I am still fighting with on my left knee
Good News: I know how to prevent the injury now and am taking steps to make sure that I stay healthy.
Bad News: had to skip one of my running sessions about halfway through because my heart rate was through the roof.
Good News: I will NEVER quit! I will only continue to get stronger and better and faster.
I feel absolutely wonderful after my first training session today. I so badly wanted to quit about halfway in. My heart rate was through the roof and I was starting to feel really dizzy. I decided that I could still do it if I skipped the middle jogging session. Presto, it worked! My heart rate returned to a more manageable level and the dizziness disappeared. I was able to finish the training session.
I just kept imagining everyone encouraging me, and I definitely did not want to disappoint.
Looking forward to day 2!

Excited
I am feeling my knee and hamstring out to see if I may possibly be able to run again. I have done 4 slow jogs over the last 2 weeks and so far, so good. I have decided that I am going to start small and work my way up. First up, start training to run a 5k. I have to admit that I am a bit nervous but also excited. Tomorrow will be my first official run using the personal running trainer 5k program. I will post about how it goes.
